It’s a funny thing. I have always been an avid reader and user of “philosophising”. I read internet ‘quote sites’ and pick out quotes I really like, and which often inspire me, sometimes posting them on facebook. When I was working in Education I would often post such quotes on the staffroom board – “Thought for the week” , in the hope of making life a little better and more interesting for the staff in the school.
Strange, then that now suddenly this habit I have takes on such massive significance. Suddenly these quotes start to apply directly to me, not just to an abstraction of the concept of life and how I (had hoped to) plan it. Suddenly I am trying to formulate a philosophy of life as it faces me now. This is suddenly real, and decisions I make in the next few weeks and months will shape the reality of my life in totality.
One quote i have always liked is “Your life is the sum of all your choices.”
Oh how true this now is. To have Chemo or not to have Chemo? To go natural/homeopath? Live life free from chemicals even if short or try to extend it with chemicals? Believe the medical profession and big Pharma or not?
These will be subjects of this blog in ensuing months, and hopefully ensuing years ……. maybe even decades.
In the meantime today really is a good day. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, my girls are loving the morning smells.
One day at a time – and today is a good one.
